The IPL sun rose for the first time on the royal horizons of Hyderabad, Telangana in the 2013 edition of the biggest T-twenty extravaganza of the world, and the team was aptly named the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Sunrisers raised the trophy in the 2016 edition under the able and pugnacious captaincy of David Warner, and has since formed a formidable nucleus of some serious talent and valuable experience.
The team for 2019 edition looks really strong under the calm leadership of Kane Williamson, and with the explosive David Warner keen to make huge amends to his formidable, yet a slightly tainted reputation, the fireworks promise to be spectacular. SRH look all set to have a great season, having bought some serious talent this year in the form of Johnny Bairstow and Martin Guptill, among many others. While the batting order looks awe-inspiring, the bowling attack too has a lot of variety, with Rashid Khan the exciting leggie, Sandeep Sharma with his banana inswingers, and last but not the least, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the two-times purple cap owner. Shakib Al Hasan brings loads of international experience to back his unquestionable talent, but the player to watch out this year will be young Vijay Shankar, the all rounder. In a very short span of his stint so far as an international player, the man has shown enough strength of character and a rather keen cricketing brain. The composure he has shown with the bat recently against the Aussies, and his world class fielding make him a lip-smacking prospect for the upcoming World Cup, should he give a good account of himself this IPL.
The administration and support staff has some all-time great names in VVS Laxman and Muttiah Muralitharan. With Tom Moody, the seasoned Aussie as a head-coach, the whole picture looks just about perfect for SRH.
